ROMPIN – Felda will introduce the hire-purchase method to ensure that its second generation of settlers who do not have pay-slips can afford to own a home under the Felda New Generation Housing Project.
Its chairman, Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad said the move was taken to help youths who were self-employed and did not have pay slips.
“They can rent for five years first but if they have enough money within the five years or subsequently, they can buy the house.
“Felda may also give a discount to the buyers by taking into account several factors such as paying their rentals promptly,” he told reporters after officiating the Dewan Semai Bakti Felda Keratong Satu, about 80km from here, today.
Also present was the Bukit Ibam State Assemblyman, Datuk Wan Kadri Wan Mahusain.
Mohd Isa said Felda was now in the process of obtaining a bank loan for the construction of 20,000 housing units and construction work would begin after the loan had been approved. – BERNAMA
