KUALA LUMPUR – Just as in previous years following the Aidilfitri holidays, traffic from the north to the Klang Valley was reported to be very heavy at 6.30pm today.
A spokesman of the Projek Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan (PLUS) traffic control centre said traffic was moving slowly southwards on the North-South xpressway, from Permatang Pauh to Perai; Changkat Jering to Bukit Berapi; Kuala Kangsar to the Menora Tunnel; Ipoh to Gopeng and Tapah to Sungkai.
“South of the Klang Valley, there has been no reports of congestion and traffic is smooth in both directions,” he told Bernama.
Traffic was also reported to slow moving from Subang Jaya to Shah Alam on the Elite Highway because of an accident involving a lorry.
A spokesman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said traffic was also moving slowly on the East Coast Expressway Phase 2 leading up to the Kuala Terengganu Toll Plaza and the Bentong and Gombak toll plazas on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway.
