PUTRAJAYA – The Foreign Ministry has opened an operations room to monitor the situation in Riau, as well as to provide assistance to Malaysian citizens, including students, affected by the haze in Pekanbaru, Indonesia.
In a statement issued here today, the ministry said the operations room was opened due to the haze condition in Riau, which exceeded 900 on the Air Pollutant Index(API) and with visibility of less than 100 metres.
It said the ministry’s operations room can be reached at 03-8887 4570 or email to email@example.com.
The Malaysian Consulate in Pekanbaru has also opened an operations room and it can be reached at +62 761 856166/67 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org
The Indonesian government declared a state of emergency in Riau last Sept 15 Sept when the haze level in the region rose to hazardous level.
