KUCHING – Today, as of 3 pm, the haze caused the cancellation of nine flights to and from Kuching.
Kuching international airport manager Mohd Hadzim Hashim said they comprised four flights into and five out of the city.
He named these flights as Kuching-Tanjung Manis-Kuching, Kuala Lumpur-Kuching-Kuala Lumpur, Kuching-Pontianak-Kuching, Kuching-Mulu-Kuching and Mulu-Kuching.
He also said that 18 flights experienced delays, comprising seven departures and 11 arrivals, and involving 2,478 passengers of Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Malindo and Expressair.
“All passengers flying into or out of Kuching are advised to check their flight schedules with the respective airlines prior to arriving at the airport,” he said in a statement.
As at 3 pm, the Air Pollutant Index reading in Kuching was at the unhealthy point of 195 while in Samarahan it was at the very unhealthy point of 205. – BERNAMA
