KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak conveyed his condolences to the family of well-known comedy actor Harun Salim Bachik who passed away yesterday.
“Condolences on the demise of Harun Salim Bachik…I always watched him act and his passing is a big loss to the entertainment industry,” he said in his latest postings on Facebook and Twitter.
Najib also prayed for Allah to bless his soul.
Harun Salim, or his real name Haron Aminar Rashid Salim, 55, who started gaining fame through the drama series, “Rumah Kedai”, in the early 1990s, suddenly collapsed at about 4.15pm at the Gunung Semanggol R&R in Perak during a stop there.
The late actor was Seniman president for the 2010-2011 term, and the films he had starred in included Man Laksa, Baik Punya Cilok and Apa Kata Hati.
He will be laid to rest at the Taman Koperasi Polis Muslim cemetery in Gombak, near here, after Zohor prayers today. – Bernama
