KUALA LUMPUR – Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah has decided to retain Harimau Muda A and the squad will join the Singapore League next year.
Tengku Abdullah said the primary focus of the squad under coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee was to meet the key performance indicator (KPI) by winning the gold medal at the SEA Games in Singapore next year.
“They will be maintained until the SEA Games championships which will be the KPI for this team,” he said after chairing a national team committee meeting at a hotel here yesterday.
Tengku Abdullah also said Harimau Muda B squad would be retained until March next year as preparations for the 2015 AFC Asia under 22 (B-22) football qualifying round.
Meanwhile, Harimau C will be maintained in the FAM League. – Bernama
