HAFIZH Syahrin Abdullah had to sit out from the Australian GP as his health conditions prevented him from contesting in the Moto2 finlas in Philip Island, Australia today.
The PETRONAS Raceline Malaysia rider was hit by flu that had gotten worse since the qualifyings. Hafizh earlier wanted to go through with the race but had to be content with being sidelined as his conditions worsen.
“I was not feeling good with the flu bug but when things went really bad, I had consulted the doctors before making the decision to proceed with the race.
After giving what I’ve got in the earlier parts of the race, my health deteriorated that forced me to abort it immediately. My apologies to sponsors, fans and team. I promise I will make up for this back at home, Malaysia,” said Hafizh.
Team manager, Barry Leong said, “We have done all we can this week especially with his performance and a good bike setup but Hafizh’s health concern is our main priority so this is the best decision for now. Let’s hope for the better in Sepang”.
