KUALA LUMPUR – “Jampi”, the song composed by Hael Husaini and Ezra Kong, rendered by Hael Husaini himself, won the prestigious trophy of the 32nd edition of the prestigious Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL32) competition at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, tonight.
The victory allowed the composers to take home a Swarovski gem-studded trophy designed by Rizman Ruzaini, CJ WOW Shop voucher worth RM10,000 and RM50,000 in cash.
The song “Sejati” composed by Faizal Tahir and Mike Chan and sung by Azmi Caliph Buskers won second place to receive RM35,000 in cash, trophy and a CJ WOW Shop voucher worth RM2,000.
Third place went to “Tergantung Sepi” composed by Gouffran and Ibnu and delivered by Haqiem Rosli. It came with a cash prize of RM20,000, trophy and CJ WOW Shop voucher worth RM2,000.
The determination of Altimet in exhibiting an ala Malay warrior show brought luck when the song “Amboi” emerged winner of the Best Performance category as anticipated by many.
For the effort, he received a trophy, CJ Wow Shop voucher of RM2,000, S8 Samsung smartphone and cash RM12,000.
The solid combination of Duo Star programme champions, Syamel and Ernie Zakri, paid off as they won the Best Vocal category through their duet “Aku Cinta”, which is fully composed by Syamel. They also received cash of RM12,000, trophy and CJ WOW Shop voucher worth RM2,000.
Khai Bahar who rendered the song “Bayang” won the Samsung’s Choice Singer Award and took home a trophy and a Samsung A8 + smartphone.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak was also present at the popular annual music competition themed “Fashion and Music”.
Among the songs which were contested on the AJL32 stage tonight were “Separuh Mati Ku Bercinta” sung by Dayang Nurfaizah (composed by Ajai), “Akhirnya Cinta” by Salma (Ajai/Slen), “Aku Yang Sebenar” by Hazama & The Penglipur Lara (Datuk M Nasir/Ad Samad), “Lebih Sempurna” by Syamel (Syamel/Edry Abd Halim/Boy Anaz), “Menahan Rindu” by Wany Hasrita (Ibnu/Gouffran) and “Warkah Untuk Mu” by Ara Johari (Hang Nadim/Laq).
The competition was judged by 10 professional juries led by composer Azmeer.
The opening act was performed by Stacy and Waris who presented three songs namely “Aku Stacy”, “Bosan” and “‘Pakai Buang”, while Datuk Awie, Siti Sarah, Datuk Jeffrydin and Datuk A Rahman Hassan, entertained the crowd with famous songs from the 1960s.
AJL32 also saw Sherry Alhadad and Alif Satar as the hosts and Aubrey Suwito as music director. – BERNAMA
