KUALA LUMPUR: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has accepted the challenge by Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan to debate on the controversies and corruption allegations surrounding property issues in the state.
Lim said he would also be prepared to have a one-on-one debate with the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister via a live telecast.
“I accept his challenge to debate the Taman Manggis issues. I will wait for him,†Lim told reporters at Parliament lobby Thursday.
“I am willing to face him although I don’t have the documents he claimed to have. I will wait for him to propose the time and venue,†he added.
On Wednesday, Rahman threw a challenge to Lim, saying that he was prepared to share the information he has with the public.
Rahman, who is also Barisan Nasional strategic communications director, added that Lim had a “funny ideaâ€, which was to “have coffee†with him.
Lim, however, denied issuing such an invitation.
“I hope Rahman is not dreaming. I have never invited him for a coffee,†he said.
