ALOR SETAR – The Kedah Football Association (KFA) will hold a celebration at Darul Aman Stadium, here, tomorrow evening to welcome home its victorious Red Eagles who won the Malaysia Cup final last night.
KFA honorary secretary, Datuk Aminuddin Omar said the celebration was to give the fans the opportunity to view the trophy brought back to the country’s ‘rice bowl’ state.
“The celebration will start upon the arrival of the Red Eagles squad at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport about 3.30pm.
“The players will be taken on a parade ride in an open-top double decker bus from the airport to Darul Aman Stadium for them to celebrate their Malaysia Cup triumph with their fans,” he said when contacted, today.
Kedah won the Cup final by beating Selangor 6-5 in a penalty shootout when both sides were tied 1-1 after 120 minutes of exciting football at Shah Alam Stadium last night, ending an eight-year drought in the competition. – BERNAMA
