Grab A Bowl Of Sweet, Sour & Savoury Laksa At Langkawi’s International Laksa Carnival!

LANGKAWI: The Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) will host its fourth annual Langkawi International Laksa Carnival (LILAC) which kickstarts  from May 29th to the 31st at Laman Padi, Pulau Langkawi.

In line with the Iconic Events initiative ins the Langkawi Tourism Blueprint, LILAC aims to put the island on the map as one of the top ten holiday destinations in the beach getaway and eco-tourism categories, with a total of 3 million tourists and total tourism receipt of RM3.8 billion by 2015; with 20% of the revenue contributed by the F&B industry.

The theme of this year’s affair is Sweet, Sour and Savoury, which celebrates the diversity of laksa variations across the nation, as well as the scrumptious traditional dessert offerings from all 14 states of Malaysia.

The LILAC gastronomy carnival is one of its kind, as it is the only food festival that caters uniquely to laksa.

There will be many fun activities during the festival such as sales and exhibition, lucky draws with total prizes woth RM50,000, laksa cooking competition and recipe innovation, live performances  and more.

This year’s carnival will also be joined by popular celebrity chefs and TV personalities such as Chef Farah Quinn, Chef Sherson Lian, Chef Joe of Masterchef Malaysia and comedian and actor turned professional chef, Farouk Hussein. For those with small children, bring them along as a special appearance by Upin & Ipin will also be held at the carnival.-MYNEWSHUB.CC
