KUALA LUMPUR – The government will ensure that the burden faced by flood victims will be lightened and that aid reach the victims.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in his posting on Twitter, said the flood relief workers had been instructed to identify the best way to ensure that aid reached the flood victims.
“I hope those parties able to initiate cooperation with the government agencies will together help lessen the burden of the flood victims,” he said.
The floods that hit five states in the peninsula, namely Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perak and Perlis, as well as Sabah in East Malaysia has resulted in more than 62,000 victims housed at the relief centres as at noon today. – BERNAMA
