Govt To Build 6,000 More Houses Under Putrajaya Scheme Phase Two

PUTRAJAYA – The government will develop 6,000 more units of houses under the Putrajaya 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing Programme (PPA1M)next month, said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.

He said applications for the Putrajaya PPA1M Phase Two would be opened for registration from Feb 12 to March 12 and eligible civil servants could apply online.

“The eligibility requirement of a maximum monthly gross income of RM8,000 has been raised to RM10,000 per husband, wife or household.

“A Putrajaya PPA1M Phase Two apartment is priced at RM90,000 to RM300,000 for sizes ranging from 850 sq ft to 1,500 sq ft,” he said when launching the PPA1M portal and online application system here today.

Without disclosing the construction venue, Ali said the provision of additional units proved the commitment of the government to assist civil servants choose their own houses at affordable prices, particularly in Putrajaya.

Last April, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched a total of 10,639 residential units under the first phase of the Putrajaya PPA1M, especially for government employees in the main towns, with prices ranging from RM150,000 to RM300,000.

Phase One at Precinct 17 and Precinct 11 here is expected to be ready by 2017-2018.

Ali said the estimated value of Putrajaya PPA1M being built in Putrajaya was about RM150 to RM300 per sq ft compared to the current apartment sale value in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya of RM500 per sq feet.

Commenting on the Putrajaya PPA1M website, he said all applications, checking of the picking of ballot results, status and development of project could be viewed and monitored by applicants or buyers via the website.

The website will be updated every four months.

At the event, Ali and Putrajaya Corporation president Tan Sri Dr Aseh Che Mat also picked ballots for the PPA1M Pudina Putrajaya Series 5 of 1,500 units of houses, which are expected to be completed in 2017.

Almost 62 per cent of the civil servants in Putrajaya succeeded in the picking of ballots and will receive their Putrajaya PPA1M purchase offer soon while the session for the Series 6 and 7 for the remaining 3,000 units of Phase One will be held in June. – BERNAMA
