IPOH – The Education Ministry is in the midst of studying measures to improve the identified weaknesses of the Pentaksiran Tingkatan 3 (PT3) examination.
Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said the improvement and efforts to provide a better understanding about the examination would be done continuously as there are many quarters who have yet to really understand it.
“Yes, we admit that the system is not yet perfect, but we have seen some improvement. We will communicate more with parents, teachers and other relevant quarters to enable them to understand the system better.
“One of the main issue in our education system is the thinking skill. We don’t want our student to be too exam-oriented, that is why we stopped implementing the PMR (Penilaian Menengah Rendah) and changed to PT3.”
He said this to reporters after attending a professional dialogue with teachers here today. – BERNAMA
