KUALA TERENGGANU – Imported rider Goh Choon Huat will boost Terengganu Professional Cycling Team’s (TSG) challenge in Le Tour de Langkawi 2015 (LTdL 2015) which starts on March 8.
TSG skipper Mohd Zamri Salleh believes that Goh, formerly of OCBC Singapore Continental Cycling Team, has attributes that are missing in the local riders.
“During LTdL 2014, Goh retained the Asia jersey from stage one to Genting Highlands,” he told a press conference to introduce six TSG riders for LTdL 2015, here yesterday.
Zamri said the Singapore born rider is ready to see action in the eight stage cycling tour covering a distance of 1,109.9 km.
Besides Zamri and Goh, TSG is banking on experienced riders Mohd Harrif Salleh, Anuar Manan, Mohamad Adiq Hussaini Othman and Mohd Saiful Anuar Aziz.
TSG is coached by Frenchman Sebastien Duclos with American Zhen Yu Feng as team manager.
Zamri said the riders had just returned from three weeks training in Chiangrai, Thailand as preparation for LTdL 2015.
“Our preparation for this year is better. We hope to finish on the podium to make up for the failure last year,” he added.
Meanwhile, Anuar Manan said he and his colleagues are eager and 100 percent ready for the LTdL challenge.
He regarded the TSG team selection as the best and hopes to be spared disruption such as road accidents. – Bernama
