KUALA LUMPUR – A seven-man crime prevention patrol team was set upon by some Chinese nationals who were found gambling at the porch of a house in Jalan Abraham, Off Jalan Khoo Teik Ee here last night, forcing them to fire warning shots in self-defence.
Dang Wangi police chief ACP Shaharudin Abdullah said in the 10.30pm incident, the team had gone to the scene after receiving information about their gambling activities.
However, he said they were set upon by about 30 men.
“The situation got out of hand and the men from the Tun H. S. Lee police station had to fire four warning shots in self-defence. No one was hurt,? he told Bernama.
He said four patrol teams in MPVs were despatched to assist after the team called for help.
