KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will issue a full statement next week on the country’s economic situation.
“I will come out with a statement next week,” he told reporters in response to a question on the economy, budget and fiscal targets in view of declining global oil prices and floods that hit the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
He was speaking to reporters after receiving flood relief assistance from Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Huang Huikang.
Among the items donated included 2,950 units of tents, 220 generator sets, 400 water pumps (1.1 kilowatt capacity), 45 roll water hoses and 60 water purification sets (500 litres per hour capacity).
Present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Muhyiddin Yassin, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Home Minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa. – Bernama
