Johoreans who wish to attend the upcoming coronation of Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar can avoid getting stuck in traffic by hopping onto a free shuttle bus service instead.
Johor Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries exco Ismail Mohamed said that some 40,000 were expected to utilise the free shuttle services on the coronation day.
“Some 1,000 buses will be mobilised from designated areas, which covered all 10 districts in the state,” he told reporters during a press conference at the Jubli Intan Hall here on Friday.
He added that some buses especially those coming for far districts such as Muar were scheduled to leave for the Johor Baru as early as 4.30am.
“In Johor Baru alone, we will be mobilising about 60 buses from 10 designated routes between 7am to 8am and we will also provide the service for passengers to return areas were they were picked up.
“With the free shuttle bus service, we hope to reduce the amount vehicles coming into city to watch the historical event,” he added.-The Star
