KUALA LUMPUR: The body of former top-cop Tan Sri Mohd Bakri Omar was laid to rest at Bukit Kiara Muslim cemetery, here, at about 3.50 pm today.
The funeral was attended by hundreds of family members, friends and representatives from the police force.
Bakri who was the seventh Inspector-General of Police (IGP) had succumbed to mouth cancer at 8.45am this morning at the National Cancer Institute in Putrajaya.
He was 66.
Bakri’s remains was brought to the cemetery after his final prayer was conducted at Baiturrahman mosque in Taman Aman Perdana, Meru, Klang, earlier today.
Also present during the burial were Acting Deputy IGP Datuk Seri Fuzi Harun, former deputy IGP Tan Sri Mohd Bakri Zinin, Selangor police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat, Pahang police chief Datuk Sharifuddin Ab Ghani and Johor police chief Datuk Mokhtar Shariff.
Bakri was survived by his wife and three children.MYNEWSHUB
