KUALA LUMPUR: Former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Shahrol Halmi will have to appear before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) again next Monday.
Shahrol will be called in to provide further information to the PAC before his successor Arul Kandasamy testifies before the bipartisan parliamentary committee this Dec 1.
“The Committee is of the view that Datuk Shahrol is required to provide further testimony as there are several information which is needed before Arul is called in,” PAC chairman Datuk Hasan Arifin said in a media statement on Wednesday.
Hasan said Shahrol had been questioned previously on his supervision and management of 1MDB since its formation after taking over the Terengganu Investment Authority in Sept 2009.
“Datuk Shahrol was also questioned on the joint venture between 1MDB and Petrosaudi,” he added.
Hasan said another former 1MDB CEO, Hazeem Abdul Rahman will appear before the PAC on Dec 14.
Hazeem was the CEO of 1MDB from April 2013 to December 2014.
Hasan also said that the chairman of 1MDBâ€™s Board of Directors, Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh will appear before the PAC on Dec 15 along with another former director, Tan Sri Azlan Zainol.
He also said that 1MDBâ€™s current chairman Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin will also be appearing before the PAC on Dec 15.
This is the fourth PAC session in its inquiry into 1MDB’s since May 19.
Two other sessions were held on June 6 and 17 before PAC’s investigations were temporarily suspended in July following the appointment of its members including former PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed into the Cabinet.
