KUALA LUMPUR- A police forensics team arrived at the gutted Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah Tahfiz centre at 10.05am today.
Soon upon arrival, a member of the 15-personnel team provided a media briefing and explained that they were planning another sweep of the burnt-out scene.
“We ask the media and the public to stand back, because we will start taking photographs of the crime scene now,” he said in front of the building’s gate.
Another member of the team told the New Straits Times that they were from the Cheras Forensic Lab. He said more forensic experts may arrive later.
The area, which has been swarmed by the public from as early 8am, is being managed by the police.
Some locals refused to step back from the building, which led to a minor kerfuffle. After some tense moments, the public finally moved away from the front of the tahfiz centre, but most remained in the vicinity to view the goings-on. -NST
