Foreigner Stabbed, In Critical Condition At HSJ

BUTTERWORTH – A man, believed to be a foreigner, was seriously injured when stabbed in front of a bank at Chain Ferry here today.

Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) district police chief ACP Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said passers-by saw the victim, in his 20s, at about 1 am and called an ambulance.

He said the victim was taken to Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ) , which then contacted the police.

The man, who was stabbed in the abdomen, back and chest, is reported unconscious and in critical condition, said Abdul Rahman when contacted by Bernama.

He said the man was believed to have been attacked by more than one person and that police would obtain the footing of a closed circuit television camera in the vicinity to identify the attackers.

“No personal document was found on the victim,” he said and called on witnesses to contact the police to assist investigation. – BERNAMA
