SEPANG – Sepang Court Complex is once again the focus of the media as two Kim Jong-nam murder suspects, both women, appear for mention of the case today.
About 50 local and foreign media practitioners converged on the court complex as early as 5.30 am, lower than the number when the suspects were charged on March 1 and during case mention on April 13.
The suspects, Doan Thi Huong, 28, of Vietnam and Siti Aisyah, 25, of Indonesia, arrived in two 4WD vehicles heavily guarded by a team from the Special Task Force On Organised Crinme (Stafoc) .
Doan and Siti Aisyah were seen wearing bullet proof vests.
The first 4WD vehicle carrying Doan arrived at about 9 am while the second 4WD vehicle carrying Siti Aisyah arrived three minutes later.
Most media members could not see them since they were whisked into the building via the rear door which was inaccessible to them.
Doan and Siti Aisyah were charged with the murder of Jong-nam at KL International Airport (klia2) departure hall at about 9 am on Feb 13 with four others still at large.
The charge under Section 302 of Penal Code carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Jong-nam,45, was the estranged half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
