KOTA KINABALU – Two primary schools in Beluran, about 305 km from here, were closed today due to floods.
Sabah Education director, Datuk Maimunah Suhaibul said they were closed because the roads to the schools and some of the school buildings were inundated.
“The affected schools are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Binsulung and SK Bawang with a total of 28 teachers and 404 pupils,” she said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Sabah Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) director, Col. Mulliadi Al-Hamdi Ladin said according to the Pitas district education officer, two schools in the district, namely SK Kusilad and SK Sosop which were closed yesterday due to floods, were re-opened today. – BERNAMA
