KUALA LUMPUR – The Human Capital Strategic Initiative is aimed to create about five million skilled local workforce by 2020, said Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem today.
He said this could be achieved through investments in both education and re-skilling of local talent.
“The up-skilling of local talent are pivotal towards improving social mobility and the wellbeing of the rakyat, as a whole. This is where strategic agency partners such as the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), which is under the purview of the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia comes into action,” he said at the launch of Human Capital Strategic Initiative Towards Creating High-Skilled Workforce by 2020 here today.
Currently, there are approximately four million skilled local workforce.
