SEREMBAN – The first Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Negeri Sembilan began operating at Plaza Angsana, Ampangan here today.
Its three-storey building in Jalan Seremban-Kuala Pilah houses 18 government and private agencies, operating from 8.30am to 10pm,
Among agencies which have began operating are the National Higher Education Fund Corporation, Tabung Haji, Human Resources Ministry, Majlis Amanah Rakyat, Inland Revenue Board Malaysia, Youth and Sports Ministry-Y Centre, state agencies, TM Point, Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan Sdn Bhd, police station, health clinic and dental clinic.
A survey by Bernama found that offices of the National Registration Department, Immigration Department and Road Transport Department were also present. However, they have yet to begin operations.
Several visitors met at the UTC said they had long been anticipating such a facility which could save time and money, especially in dealing with multiple government agencies under one roof.
The UTC is expected to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Nov 30.
For the record, there are 12 mini-Rural Transformation Centres in Negeri Sembilan located at seven districts, namely Jempol, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Tampin, Seremban, Jelebu and Port Dickson. – BERNAMA
