The wait is over. The dress has been revealed.
In a surprise move, the first images of the Jolie-Pitt wedding have surfaced on the cover of People magazine in the US and Hello! Magazine in the UK. Both of them show Jolie in her wedding gown, with People also sharing a candid wedding snap of the Jolie-Pitt clan on their front page. The Hello! cover gives us the shot we’ve all been waiting for: Jolie and Pitt sealing their nuptials with a kiss.
The gown – an ivory dress by Luigi Massi, head tailor at Atelier Versace – features a simple fitted bodice with a full, billowing skirt. Jolie paired the classic design with a beautiful, cascading veil, which was embroidered with hundreds of hand-illustrated drawings by her six children.
“Luigi is like family to me and I couldn’t imagine anyone else making this dress,” Jolie told People magazine. “He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together.”
Here’s some of the snaps published in People and Hello! magazines, respectively:
Pitt wore a suit he already owned in what the couple described to People magazine as a “fun and relaxed†day.
And to keep it a family affair, their 10-year-old son, Pax, baked the wedding cake.
The couple pair first met when they played husband and wife assassins in the 2005 film, Mr and Mrs Smith. This is Pitt’s second wedding after a five-year marriage to Jennifer Aniston, and Jolie’s third after marriages to actors Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.MYNEWSHUB
