JOHOR BAHRU – Firefighters are still working to extinguish a fire at a plastic factory in Jalan Sungai Tiram, Ulu Tiram, near here, after it broke out more than 11 hours ago.
Taman Johor Jaya Fire and Rescue Department chief Tahrin Saat however said, no casualties were reported so far.
He said the operation to put out the fire started at 2.35 am, involving three fire engines and 30 firefighters from Johor Jaya, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baharu.
“It could take a long time to get this fire completely out because the building is a factory to process and store plastics,” he said in a statement today.
He said the cause of fire and total amount of losses were being investigated. – BERNAMA
