KUALA LUMPUR – Fire destroyed five classrooms, a desk storeroom and a book store on the third floor of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Samudera, Gombak, here today.
A staff alerted the Gombak Fire and Rescue Department at 11.53am, said commander of the fire-fighting operation Azman Mahat.
A 21-member team of fire-fighters from the Selayang, Rawang and Gombak Selatan stations rushed to the scene within minutes, he said.
Azman said the fire was brought under control and extinguished about 30 minutes later and no casualty was reported.
According to the senior administrative assistant of the school, Mastini Suffian, as soon as the fire alarm went off, teachers rushed the 300 students out of their classes to assemble at the designated emergency site. – BERNAMA
