KUALA LUMPUR – A biopic on Mohd Azizulhasni Awang is set to provide the people with rare insights into the arduous quests of the world keirin champion and is a must-watch movie for budding cyclists.
The film, to be directed by famous cinematographer Raja Mukhriz Raja Ahmad, is a collaboration by ThreeSixty Management, UniTalent Sdn Bhd and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) with a production budget of approximately RM6 million.
“It is an honour for my efforts and sacrifices over the years as an athlete in representing the country all the way to the world arena. I hope fellow Malaysians will find it inspiring and informative.
“Without such an initiative, it (the memory) will end just like that. People will only remember what I had won… If the history is documented in the form of film, it will be passed on to the next generation,” he told a press conference here today.
Mohd Azizulhasni, 30, said he was excited when he found out that the film would be made as a reference for UUM students.
He also said the film would incorporate elements of his family as well as his experience ever since he was a child to give more emotional touch to the feature and hoped it would motivate potential riders to do emulate him.
“I will make this film as a medium to convey to the public on how we, from a tiny nation, can conquer the world,” Mohd Azizulhasni said.
UUM researchers will be involved in the content development of the film.
Casting for the lead actor will be carried out soon. – BERNAMA
