KUALA LUMPUR – Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) has terminated the Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) signed with US-based Newlight Technologies LLC and Innogas Technologies Sdn Bhd.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the company said it was unable to reach acceptable agreement terms.
Last December, FGV announced its unit, Felda Global Ventures Downstream Sdn Bhd was teaming with US-based Newlight Technologies LLC and Innogas Technologies Sdn Bhd, to produce biodegradable plastics from palm oil biomass waste in Malaysia.
The MoU set out the understanding and intention of the parties during the interim exploratory period.
FGV said the parties planned for the project to start in the second quarter of 2016, with construction of the first plant set to begin in the fourth quarter of next year, and completed within 14 months. – BERNAMA
