KUALA LUMPUR – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has given the greenlight for Felda United to host its AFC Cup matches at the Stadium Tun Abdul Razak (STAR) in Jengka, Pahang.
Felda United in an official posting on its Facebook said the first match to be held at the STAR would be the AFC Cup match against Tampines Rovers from Singapore on April 19.
“Discussions were held between the AFC and the Felda Utd management before the approval was given,” said Felda Utd in a statement.
Felda United FC secretary Zulkarnain Muhammad thanked the AFC for allowing the STAR to be used as the home venue for Felda Utd matches.
“The approval is a big boost for our fans and supporters to watch important matches at their own backyard instead of travelling to the Shah Alam Stadium. I hope fans will fill the stadium to the brim for the match against Tampines Rovers,” he said.
Felda Utd had earlier used the Shah Alam Stadium for its AFC Cup matches against Hanoi FC (Vietnam) on March 7 and Ceres Negros (Philippines) on April 4. – BERNAMA
