JEMPOL – Felda United will play two friendly matches in Singapore at the end of this month to prepare for the Malaysia Cup quarter-final matches starting Oct 3.
Coach Irfan Bakti said the matches against Tampines Rovers FC and Young Lions would help to identify Felda’s weaknesses and strengths before meeting Selangor at Shah Alam Stadium on Oct 3.
The return leg of the quarter-final match would be played at Selayang Municipal Council Stadium on Oct 17.
“The return of skipper Shukor Adan and striker Indra Putra Mahayuddin from training with the national team will strengthen our team.
“We respect Selangor who are doing well in the Super League but Felda United are the FA Cup runner-up. It will not be easy against Selangor but we have a strategy to control strikers Paulo Rangel and Andik Vermansyah.
“I am confident that we can advance to the next stage,” he told reporters after the launch of Felda United’s ‘Jom Ke Stadium’ programme by Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad here, last night.
Felda United made the Malaysia Cup quarter-finals after beating LionsXII 3-1 at Selayang Municipal Council Stadium in the final match to emerge Group A leaders.
Accompanying Felda United are Malaysia Cup holders Pahang who emerged as Group A runners-up.
