KUALA LUMPUR – Felda United team remained in second spot in the Super League despite losing 2-3 to T-Team at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu, tonight.
The result saw ‘The Fighters’ still with 42 points while T-Team went up two notches into fifth place with 26 points after 20 matches.
T-Team’s goals were scored by Dilshod Sharofetdinov (28th minute), (74th) and Konate Makan (68th) while Felda United’s by Mohd Hadin Azman (50th) and Abdul Shukor Jusoh (70th).
For the record, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) were confirmed champions of the Super League after a comfortable 3-0 win over Terengganu at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin, yesterday despite still having two more matches to go.
Tonight, Kedah also had a comfortable 3-1 win over Perak at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar.
The three goals of the Red Eagles were scored by Smeltz Shane Edward (sixth minutes), (58th) and Thiago Augusto Fernandes (85th) while Perak’s sole goal was scored by team captain, Thiago Junio de Aquino (81st).
Earlier, both teams were silent for a minute to honour 50s era national goalkeeper, Datuk Yusoff Abu Bakar, 81, who died of old age yesterday.
Meantime, Pahang, who are in last position among the 12 teams, revived their chances of staying in the Super League next season after a narrow 1-0 win over Selangor at Shah Alam Stadium with Pablo Andres Vranjican scoring the winner in the 32nd minute.
Two more Super League matches involving a clash between Penang and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) at Bandaraya Stadium, Penang and Sarawak and Kelantan at Negeri Stadium Petra Jaya, both ended in a 1-1 draw. – BERNAMA
