KANGAR – The Tuanku Fauziah Hospital here has made arrangements on the operating hours of its blood bank between May 30 and June 22 to facilitate blood donation during the Ramadan fasting month.
The hospital’s Head of the Pathology Department, Dr Liza Dat, said today the blood bank would operate from 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday and also from 8.30pm to 11pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
“This arrangement is to ensure constant supply of blood, especially during emergencies, in the fasting month,” she said in a statement.
Dr Liza said Muslims could donate blood in the four hours after the ‘sahur’ (dawn meal).
She welcomed people aged between 18 and 60 to come forward and donate blood to help save lives.
