PETALING JAYA – The police have confirmed that a member of local nasyid group has been summoned to come to the Petaling Jaya Police headquarters to give his statement concerning the report lodged by actor Datuk Farid Kamil Zahari.
Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat said the singer was summoned through his lawyer this afternoon.
“He will come and give his statement soon, while another singer from an R&B group could not be contacted,” he told a press conference after the closing ceremony of the Inspector-General of Police Cup Sports Carnival at the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council Stadium here today.
Also present were Selangor Police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor and Kuala Lumpur Police deputy chief Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob.
Farid Kamil in his Jan 31 report lodged at the Taman Tun Dr Ismail police station claimed that three artistes had spiked his drink which resulted in his outburst at a police station last month. – BERNAMA
