IPOH – The family of well-known free lance preacher Datuk Ustaz Mohd Kazim Elias today appealed to the public to stop spreading rumours on his health on social media.
His brother Datuk Mohd Najmuddin said the family was disappointed that all kinds of rumours were being spread, among others that a spell had been cast on him, that Ustaz Kazim was on his deathbed and even that he had died.
“The rumours have gone viral, this is something sensitive and cannot be accepted by the family,” he told reporters at Pusat Islam Al-Barakah in Manjoi here today.
Ustaz Kazim was admitted to a private hospital here at 8am yesterday following a lecture at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in George Town, Penang on Friday.
On Ustaz Kazim’s health status, Mohd Najmuddin said he underwent an endoscopy at 12.20pm today to determine the cause of the stomach ailment he is suffering and that the results were expected to be out later today.
In February, Ustaz Kazim had to be admitted to Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM), Kubang Kerian, Kelantan after complaining of fatigue and chest pains while delivering a talk in Bachok di Kelantan.
He was confirmed to have suffered a heart attack and received follow up treatment the KPJ Ipoh Specalist Centre here before getting back in the speaking circuit. – BERNAMA
