PETALING JAYA – All national football teams, namely Harimau Malaya, Under-23, Under-19 and the National Football Development Programme (PPBN) squads will have to adopt to a uniform game and philosophy soon.
Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said all the coaches involved, Tan Cheng Hoe (Harimau Malaya), Datuk Ong Kim Swee (U-23), Bojan Hodak (U-19) and Lim Teong Kim (PPBN) needed to adhere to the tactical plan and strategy formulated by FAM technical director Peter De Roo.
“Peter will be analysing the game suitable to the physique of our players to ensure all teams will have the same game play. All coaches are required to sit with Peter to discuss their plans and status of their respective squads every week,” he told a meet the fans session in Subang Jaya today.
He was replying to a question on the different game play and tactics by the different national teams by one of the 200 local football supporters present at the dialogue session.
The Tunku Mahkota of Johor (TMJ) also said FAM viewed match-fixing and corruption in football seriously as they gave a negative impact to the development of football in the country.
Also discussed in the two-hour long session were the issues of creating feeder clubs, recruiting naturalised players and online sale of Malaysia League tickets. – BERNAMA
