PETALING JAYA – The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has set Jan 16, to discuss the status of former Harimau Muda A (Under-23) and current National midfielder Gary Steven Robbat who is embroiled in a tussle between three teams.
The FAM Players’ Status Committee chairman Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan (pic) said the meeting was delayed because there were other important issues to be discussed urgently.
Gary, born in Kulim, Kedah had started his career with the Harimau Muda team coached by Datuk Ong Kim Swee before he was spotted by former National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal and roped into the National squad.
He was reported to have signed for Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) next season and is currently with JDT for a pre-season training in Australia but his name was also said to be on the list of players for Pahang and Kedah.
Kedah Football Association (KFA) had claimed that according to the terms and conditions, players who represent Harimau Muda must return to the state before they are allowed to sign for other teams.
“Gary’s case will be discussed on Friday (Jan 16)… all parties involved will be called for the meeting,” he said here yesterday.
