KUCHING – Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said he was confident Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) can wrest more seats in the 14th General Election (GE14).
Fadillah, who is also PBB senior vice president, said he shared the opinion and confidence of Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg that BN could win 29 seats in Sarawak compared to 25 seats in the GE13.
“We are always ready (to face the election) because we work the whole time and our job is to ensure our party wins the election,” he told reporters after visiting the underground project site at Abang Kapali Abang Akip roundabout in Petra Jaya here today.
He said voters in Sarawak should give a bigger victory to the BN because the Sarawak needed a bigger mandate from the people to claim all the state’s rights from the federal government.
Fadillah is among the BN candidates expected to be renominated to defend the Petra Jaya parliamentary seat in the general election on May 9. – BERNAMA
