SHAH ALAM — Terengganu qualified for the quarter-finals of the FA Cup competition when they came from behind to notch a 3-1 victory against Selangor in the third round at the Shah Alam Stadium here last night.
The Turtles will have to contend with Perak in the last eight early next month. The quarter-finals are played on the home and away format.
Perak made it after edging T-Team 2-1 in the third round at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh.
Selangor’s Brazilian import Guilherme De Paula put the hosts ahead in the 21st minute with a header from a free kick, much to the delight of the 13,000-odd home fans.
It took the visitors up to the 90th minute to find the equaliser when their Cameroon import Vincent Bikana scored, sending their 2,000 supporters into a frenzy and forcing extra time.
Selangor defender Robert Cornthwaite ‘gifted’ Terengganu’s second goal when his header to clear the ball went into his own net.
Zairo Anuar Zailani put the result beyond any doubt when he netted Terengganu’s third in the 121st minute .
