KUALA LUMPUR: A famous local pop-rock group vocalist ofÂ the 90s era was remanded for four days from today by the Selayang Magistrate’s Court here for allegedly possessing syabu.
The remand order was issued by Magistrate Nurul Izzah Hasan Basri to assistÂ investigation under section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and section Â 15(1)(a) of the same act.
Earlier the 35-year-old Ezad Exist, who is also a singer and actor, arrivedÂ accompanied by police officers at the court’s compound at 10.05 am handcuffedÂ and wearing a purple lockup attire.
The suspect was later seen leaving the court at 10.15 am to be brought toÂ the Gombak district police headquarters (IPD) lockup.
The suspect’s wife, who was seen waiting for his arrival since 9 am, managedÂ to say “I love you so much” four times to him.
Yesterday tbe police arrested the suspect in the vicinity of the SelayangÂ Mall Complex, Selayang during the Operasi Tapis, which condcuted by a team fromÂ the Gombak IPD.–BERNAMA
