SINGAPORE – The highly-anticipated ‘Causeway Derby’ between Malaysia and Singapore in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 football tournament at the National Stadium (pic), Singapore Sports Hub Saturday, has received encouraging response by fans from both sides.
The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) said on it Facebook fanpage Friday that about 85 percent of the tickets for tomorrow’s Group B clash have been sold so far.
The National Stadium can seat 55,000 spectators.
FAS noted that concession tickets for all ticket categories allocated to Singaporeans and also an away tickets for Malaysian fans were sold out.
It said, fans still can purchase tickets which are available through Sports Hub Tix at www.sportshubtix.sg, Sports Hub box office counters at the Singapore Indoor Stadium or from any SingPost outlet throughout the city-state.
The winner between Malaysia and Singapore match will secure a slot to the semi-finals at this 10th edition of the tournament.
Vietnam and Philippines have advanced to the last four after emerging as the top two teams from Group A, being hosted by Vietnam, whereas Thailand in Group B are also through after registering two straight wins against Malaysia and Singapore. – Bernama
