KUALA LUMPUR – Eighty weapons from various ages as well as some current Army assets will be on display at the National Museum here from today.
Apart from weapons, visitors to the Weapon and Humanity Evolution Exhibition can also look at close range Army assets such as the Scorpion light tank and Commando V150 armoured car.
Army Museum chief researcher Muhd Zuraiman Abd Ghani said the Scorpion light tank, made from aluminium alloy could be operated by three men and was equipped with a Cockrill 90mm gun.
Powered by a Perkin diesel engine, the vehicle is ideal for reconnaissance, he said when contacted by Bernama.
The Commando V150 is deployed to despatch soldiers in battlefields as it is built to protect army personnel from mortar and bomb shrapnels.
The exhibition, organised by the Tourism and Culture Ministry and the Museum Department will end on February 20 next year. – Bernama
