Authorities are searching for an African man suspected of having Ebola who has failed to report himself and shut off contact with the officials since Nov. 16.
Samuel Ceesay, 31 of Sierra Leone entered Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport on Nov. 13 with about 10 friends. The airport’s disease control officers suspected Ceesay of having Ebola and detained him for examination at the Department of Disease Control.
Ceesay was then released on Nov. 15 and told to report to department every day. Officials escorted him to a hotel in Bangkok’s Bang Rak district where he had planned to stay.
However, he refused to check in and left, according to the hotel staff.
Health officials filed a police report on Friday after Ceesay failed to report in and apparently turned off his phone.
Authorities have identified Ceesay as a “dangerous person,” and health officials have sent staff to look for him in common tourist areas throughout the nation, Thai’s Morning News reported.MYNEWSHUB
