KUANTAN – After Kelantan and Terengganu, Pahang has also been hit by floods, with 47 residents from 14 families in two villages in Raub the first to be evacuated.
Pahang Civil Defence Force (CDF) director Zainal Yusof said two relief centres had been opened, the first being Surau RRM Cheroh 3, which opened about 9.30pm last night housing 10 people from two families.
“Meanwhile, the relief centre at the Kampung Ulu Sungai Town Hall was opened at 11.30pm to accommodate 37 people from 12 families,” he said in a statement here, today.
He said the water-level of Sungai Lipis at Batu Malim Raub was recorded at a danger-level of 115.68 metres, and still rising, with risk of floods in surrounding areas. – BERNAMA
