KUALA LUMPUR – The Foreign Ministry today confirmed that there were no Malaysian casualties in the earthquake that hit the south western region of Lebak, Banten Province, Indonesia, at 1.34 pm yesterday.
In a statement today, it said the Malaysian embassy in Jakarta had been communicating with Malaysian students around Jakarta, Bandung and Bogor to ascertain that they were all safe.
Jakarta, Bogor, Cianjur, Sukabumi and Bandung in West Java as well as certain regions in Central Java Barat felt the impact of the 6.1 Richter Scale earthquake.
“Stay calm and follow the local news for the latest developments,” it advised concerned Malaysians.
