Dr Zaiedi Suhaili Sworn In As Senator

KUALA LUMPUR – Padawan Municipal Council Deputy Chairman Dr Zaiedi Suhaili was sworn in today as a senator before Dewan Negara President Datuk S. A. Vigneswaran.

Dr Zaiedi, 60, who is from Kuching, has been appointed a senator for a three-year term in place of Senator Dayang Madinah Tun Abang Haji Openg whose term of office had expired.

The former political secretary to the education and agriculture ministers served on the Kuching Water Board from 2007 to 2009.

He had also served as a civil service officer in Sarawak from 1975 to 1985.

He was active in politics and had served in the Tupong branch of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu.

Dr Zaiedi, when approached by reporters, said he would continue to champion issues pertaining to education and agriculture, particularly in Sarawak. – BERNAMA
