Clad in black suit, Dr Mahathir arrived at the Perdana Putra lobby at 8.25 am and was welcomed by Prime Minister’s Department senior deputy secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali.
Dr Mahathir then went to the fifth floor where his office is situated and was greeted by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa. Prayers were recited before he entered his office.
He also signed the commencement of duty letter.
Dr Mahathir will chair the first cabinet meeting later.
