KUCHING – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi tonight visited Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg at his residence in Petra Jaya, near here, in conjunction with Aidilfitri.
Arriving at 8.30 pm, Ahmad Zahid then had dinner with Abang Johari, his wife Datin Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang and other guests.
Ahmad Zahid had arrived at Kuching International Airport at 7.15pm and was received by Sarawak Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
Also present to receive Ahmad Zahid were Sarawak Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh and Sarawak State Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar.
The deputy prime minister will have a busy day tomorrow with friendly visits in conjunction with Hari Raya and Hari Gawai.
He is scheduled to call on Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud at Astana Negeri in Petra Jaya at 12.15pm in conjunction with Aidilfitri and have lunch with him.
Earlier, in the morning, Ahmad Zahid is scheduled to pay a Hari Gawai friendly visit on Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing.
At 2.45pm, he will continue with his Hari Gawai visit, this time on Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
The deputy prime minister’s tight schedule extends into the night where he will visit and have dinner with Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan. – BERNAMA
